Out and About makes use of SMS texting, WiFi, or Data depending on your connection. Works in UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand.

  • With data on, the app sends updates often.
  • With data off, the app automatically sends an SMS text message with your location at regular intervals.
  • With Starlink Direct to Cell and no cellular coverage, the app can still send SMS texts with your location updates.

Starlink’s satellite-to-phone service allows standard smartphones to send and receive SMS texts in areas with no cellular coverage.

  • USA: Fully available.
    T-Mobile’s T-Satellite (powered by Starlink) supports SMS texting (and some data/apps) for compatible phones. Available to T-Mobile customers and often works for others via eSIM/roaming. Roaming support in Canada & New Zealand.

    One NZ customers can use One NZ Satellite TXT nationwide in dead zones. One of the first countries to launch commercial service.
