"Out and About NZ" is a mobile app service that provides location tracking and AI-powered SMS chat. It is designed for use in areas where traditional cell/data coverage may be unavailable by leveraging Starlink SMS technology.

The app periodically sends your location via SMS, even in areas without cellular or data coverage. You can also send update messages with your location to keep friends or family informed of your progress.

Location tracking is protected by a unique code that you can share with trusted individuals. You can reset this code at any time to maintain your privacy.

AI Chat allows you to send questions via SMS and receive responses. This is helpful for quick information retrieval when you're out of data coverage.

Standard SMS charges apply when using the location tracking and AI Chat features. These costs depend on your mobile plan.

The service prohibits abusive or inappropriate messages. Misuse may result in the suspension or termination of your access to the service.

Currently only One NZ offers this service, and consult their website to confirm eligible plans that support Starlink SMS.

The service is designed to function in areas without traditional network coverage by using Starlink SMS. This ensures your updates and location information are still transmitted.

Only individuals with your tracking code can access your location data. You can reset this code at any time to restrict access.

You can reset your tracking code within the app settings. This will invalidate the old code and generate a new one for improved privacy.
